We are currently recruiting for this important new addition to our team - a Volunteer Programme Lead who has a real passion to build the charity’s volunteering programme through dynamic and effective volunteer recruitment, deployment, nurturing and support.

The charity’s work already benefits from the contribution of some amazing volunteers, so we now want to build on this success, making our volunteer programme bigger, better and higher impact than ever before. We don’t expect you to have built a volunteer team previously, but you will have a good understanding of what it means to be a volunteer, and will have worked within a recruitment environment, perhaps as an internal/external recruiter or as part of a wider HR role. People are at the heart of everything we do, from our staff and volunteers through to the clients we support, so having excellent people and customer service skills are also essential for the role, as well as experience of identifying recruits’ aspirations for personal development and mapping the skills needed to achieve them.

Reporting to the People Development Manager, as a key member of our People Team, you will be involved in growing the range of volunteering opportunities we have on offer and the design and development or robust policies and processes, and seeking new and innovative ways of reaching and developing potential volunteers. The role may also involve project management of grant-funded projects associated with volunteering, ensuring that outcomes are delivered and reporting is managed in line with funders’ requirements.

We have a vision at Citizens Advice Gateshead to make volunteering a model of good practice across the charitable sector and this appointment will be fundamental to us achieving this. Annual Salary: £24,000 - £26,603.43 (depending on experience)
Hours: 30-37 hours per week (TOIL policy applies to this post)
Holidays: 22 days a year plus bank holidays
