Croft Community School meets the needs of students between the ages of 4 and 16 (number on roll 126) with a wide range of complex needs (MLD, SLD, ASC plus challenging behaviour).

In addition to our present staff we wish to appoint two new Welfare Assistants for a May start date, or sooner if possible. The role will be to support the welfare of students who require assistance with personal care. This role will incorporate aspects of moving and handling pupils with physical difficulties, intimate care and toileting, and the safe-handling of medicines. Some involvement with physiotherapy and occupational therapy regimes may be required.

• Support independent living skills and inclusion of all pupils
• Support pupils in social and emotional well-being, reporting problems to the teacher as appropriate
• Provide high quality personal and intimate care to vulnerable students
• Prepare and clear up care and therapy environments and ensure pupils’ safety and well-being remain high on your agenda
• Support children’s learning through positive interaction and development of social skills.
• Assist with break-time supervision including facilitating games and activities
• Assist with escorting pupils on educational visits
