We are seeking to recruit an Insurance Claims and Safety Assistant to support the development of a resilient insurance claims management service ensuring a systematic approach to the administration and repudiation of claims and achievement of added value savings as part of the Group’s Value for Money Strategy.
Key duties and responsibilities of the role
• The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating new and ongoing claims liaising with Group staff, the Insurers / loss adjusters and claimants in line with the claims management procedures;
• conducting insurance site investigations independently or in conjunction with the Health and Safety Officers preparing internal investigation reports in defence of claims and ensuring all supporting evidence is provided to the Insurers;
• collating and sense checking data across the Group’s insurance portfolio and contributing to the negotiation of agreed terms with the Group’s Insurers;
• maintaining accurate database records for accidents to ensure compliance with the Reporting of Injuries, Diseases and Dangerous Occurrences Regulations (RIDDOR) requirements and monitor target dates for corrective actions;
• administering the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) web system ensuring the production of COSHH assessments and collate / analyse insurance claim, incident and accident records contributing to the preparation of quarterly Audit Committee reports;
• supporting the Business Risk and Assurance Manager in the delivery of training sessions on the Group’s insurance arrangements and internal procedures for claims handling, investigation, information requirements and inspection regimes.
