An opportunity has arisen for a forward thinking qualified Environmental Health Officer/Food Safety Officer to become part of the Council’s Public Protection Service. As part of Public Protection’s Commercial Team you will effectively implement and deliver planned food hygiene inspections, investigate infectious disease cases and outbreaks, respond to complaints, service requests and enquiries, taking necessary enforcement action to improve standards and protect public health.
You will be an excellent team player and a competent individual used to dealing with complex routine and reactive casework. Excellent verbal and written communication skills including negotiation and presentation are essential.
The successful candidate will possess a relevant qualification in Environmental Health and certificate of registration with EHORB (or working towards), or have The Higher Certificate in Food Premises Inspection (HCFPI) applications are welcomed from newly qualified officers. As this post involves travel throughout the County you must be able to meet the transport requirements.
