An opportunity has arisen to appoint a part time Caretaker who will have responsibility for the grounds and building weekdays between 11.00am – 13.30pm.

We are looking to recruit someone with a “can do” attitude, a team player, with good communication skills both verbal and written.

At Shanklea we pride ourselves in providing the best possible care and experiences for our pupils, ensuring they are happy and safe.

The successful candidate will join a friendly committed team in a good school.

Requirements:

Applicants must be enthusiastic and professional. You must demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills and be able to communicate positively with our staff and pupils.

You must be able to work on your own initiative and as part of a team.

You will have a neat and presentable appearance

Duties include but are not exclusive of:

Ensuring self and colleagues comply with Health and Safety legislation and other Shanklea policies and procedures

Set up and clear away the lunch hall tables and chairs

Ensure cleaning standards are maintained and undertake cleaning related tasks as required

Ensure that all external areas of the property are kept free from litter and debris, bins are emptied regularly and main access routes and agreed areas are kept clear and tidy

Monitor and report the general condition of the school grounds and building, undertake minor repairs and ensure DIY tasks are carried out in a timely manner

Experience in a similar role would be advantageous.
