Duke’s Secondary School have a vacancy for a leader of our small Alternative Provision department which provides an interesting and engaging curriculum for a cohort of students. You will be working with a group of students who thrive in an environment where they are valued and encouraged to achieve in an alternative setting to traditional school.

You will raise achievement through the effective leadership of the secondary phase curriculum, with specific responsibility for pupils in the Alternative Provision. You will take overall responsibility for students in the Alternative Provision in relation to both academic and personal progress. Liaising effectively with other professionals to ensure a smooth transition into the next stage of education for each individual is a must.

Your ability to build relationships with young people who may challenge you will be key to success in this role. You will make a great addition to the team if you are committed to developing their life chances, and are able to deliver a high quality provision, while maintaining discipline effectively.

This post is 37 hours per week, term time plus 5 additional days.

Salary band 7 (point range 24-28)
£27,905 - £31,371 per annum, pro rata
Actual salary: Approximately £23,968 - £26,945 per annum
