20 hours per week, term time only plus 5 training days as directed by the school.

Prosper Learning Trust is seeking to appoint an administrative assistant with relevant experience (in a school or similar environment) to join our busy, friendly admin team at Newcastle Bridges School, to start as soon as possible. The successful applicant will be expected to work at any of the school’s sites as required, but initially to be based at the school’s units at Alnwood and Ferndene –operating a split week rota between the two locations. The post holder will be expected to be able to manage their own workload and respond to the many interruptions of a busy office. The successful applicant needs to be committed, flexible and motivated in their work. Training and support will be provided to the successful applicant.

Newcastle Bridges School consists of many school sites catering for the specific needs of its students both locally and at times nationally. Alnwood is a mental health clinical setting for 12-18 year olds with mental health needs or an additional learning disability.
Ferndene is a purpose built in-patient centre which provides assessment and treatment for 12 - 18 year olds with complex health, behavioural and emotional needs including those with a learning disability.

The school is strongly committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. The successful applicant will be required to obtain an enhanced Certificate of Disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service and go through a range of other recruitment checks.

As this post involves working with children and dealing with sensitive information, written references will be taken up and made available to interviewers before the final selection stage, even if you indicate otherwise.

The successful candidates will be deployed initially at Newcastle Bridges Schools but will be expected to work at any Prosper Learning Trust site should the need arise.
Completed applications should be returned to admin@prosperlearningtrust.co.uk or posted to Prosper Learning Trust for the attention of Vicky Hall, Executive Support Officer, Thomas Bewick School, Linhope Road, West Denton, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE5 2LW
