Further Information
Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council prides itself on being a great place to work where staff are trusted, valued and supported to make a positive contribution at work.

We are seeking to appoint an Assistant Service Manager within Catering & Building Cleaning Services.

The role will be very diverse and rewarding and involves working in an extremely busy frontline service, which employs in the region of 400 FTE staff whom work across multiple locations, including but not limited to schools, academies, council buildings and cafés. The post will require the successful applicant to build good working relationships and engage with a range of people, groups and customers.

Whilst knowledge and experience of working within a similar environment may be helpful, this is by no means the most important aspect we are looking for. After reading the above information you will be aware that we are seeking the right person who possesses excellent communication skills, can engage with staff and customers alike and most importantly, possess a range of skills and personal qualities which would be transferable to this exciting opportunity.

The Catering & Building Cleaning Team are national award winners and we are looking to recruit an individual who can inject vibrancy, creative thinking, commitment and enthusiasm to an already successful team. If you think that you have the skills we are looking for and would like to join an organisation where attitude and behaviour is more important than specific experience, then we would like to hear from you.

The position will be working on a 37 hour per week basis, predominantly Monday to Friday, although some evening and weekend work would be required as the requirements of the service can often extend beyond the normal working week.

This post has been identified as suitable for flexible working which enables the postholder to work 40% of their working time away from the office.

We offer an excellent total reward package including a competitive salary, generous Pension Scheme and annual leave entitlement as well as access to a number of additional employee benefits and a wide range of learning and development opportunities.

If you would like an informal discussion about the post, please contact Anita Brown (Catering & Cleaning Service Manager) on 01642 527274.
