This role is restricted to internal applicants from the 5 Local Authorities within the Tees Valley.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Social Worker or AMHP.

The Children’s Services Department within Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council provides an out of hours Emergency Duty Social Work Service, covering evenings, weekends and bank holidays, to all five Tees Valley Local Authorities. This service is generic across both children and adults.

Applicants must have a relevant professional qualification in social work, substantial experience and be registered with Social Work England

You must be available to work on a rota basis across 7 days including overnight and high demand times.

You would ideally hold an Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP) qualification under Mental Health Legislation and have significant experience in the safeguarding of children, young people and adults. If coming from a children and adults background you must be willing to undertake training for your AMHP status.

You will bring with you a proven track record of success, be able to effectively communicate in a multi-agency environment, be confident in assessing and have the ability to risk manage complex situations.

The work is varied and challenging and in return we offer a supportive team environment. We are committed to continuous professional development, providing regular supervision and appraisals.
It is anticipated that appointment will be made at Grade L or above.
