Horizons Specialist Academy Trust consists of six academies and one sixth form across the Tees Valley area serving a population of approximately 650 students aged 5 to 19 with a broad range of learning difficulties.
Abbey Hill Academy & Abbey Hill Academy 6th Form is “where amazing children do amazing things!” We specialise in meeting the needs of students aged 11 to 19 who have a full range of learning disabilities. The academy provides for approximately 317 young people aged 11 to 19 years who have learning difficulties, as well as other special needs including physical needs or autism
We are seeking to appoint an outstanding, creative and enthusiastic teaching assistant who has the flexibility to work with young people who have a variety of special educational needs. The role involves supporting students in the classroom giving attention to their physical as well as educational requirements. Applicants should possess at least a Level 3 qualification or equivalent and have GCSE English and Maths at Grade C or above.
Although there is an expectation that all our staff will work across the Academy as necessary, this posts will be based at our Abbey Hill Sixth Form.
