'Staff morale is strong, Staff are unified and motivated’
‘Staff say the headteacher and other leaders are ‘genuine’ in their attempts to lessen
workload and improve well-being’ Ofsted January 2020

Northfield School is a large 11-16 school and specialist sports college. We are an ambitious and inclusive school with state of the art facilities and interactive technology in a well-resourced newly refurbished main building and a separate new Year 7 school.

Following an inspection in January 2020, Ofsted judged that the school continues to be good and acknowledged all the positive work being undertaken to improve it further. This is a great time to join the school.

Northfield Sportsdrome is a busy and vibrant school and community sports facility and we are looking to appoint a Fitness Trainer to cover a range of duties and responsibilities. Principally you will carry out fitness inductions and provide professional instruction on the safe and effective use of exercise equipment located in the fitness suite and exercise areas throughout the Sportsdrome. You will be proficient at preparing fitness programmes for gym members, and updating programmes appropriately following fitness reviews.

Excellent team working, organisational, and communication skills, both written and verbal are essential, alongside the ability to work effectively to tight deadlines whilst prioritising your workload efficiently and effectively using your own initiative. You will also be a confident IT user with an excellent level of proficiency and experience in a range of IT systems.

You will be friendly, approachable, enthusiastic, energetic, and self-motivated in order to meet the varying demands of a school and community use facility. You will have at least 1 years’ experience of teaching a variety of exercise classes, and practical gym experience.

The successful applicant will work a shift rota to include daytime, evenings, and weekend working. Please refer to the job description and person specification when applying for this post.

An official application form and further details are available on our web page https://www.northfieldssc.org and should be returned to HR@northfieldssc.org
Alternatively, applications are also accepted by post (FAO Catherine Frost). NB: we do not accept CV’s.

Visits to the school are welcome by appointment; please call Catherine Frost on 01642 557373 or email using the details above.

The school is committed to safer recruitment practice and pre-employment checks will be undertaken before any appointment is confirmed. This post is subject to an enhanced DBS check.
