We seek to appoint a suitably qualified Pastoral Inclusion Assistant – with experience of working with children in an education setting, reporting to the Assistant Headteacher.

The successful candidate will provide pastoral support for small groups of students across one or more year groups in the secondary phase, working with the existing pastoral/house team within the school based Discovery Centre and inclusion base. They will be responsible for promoting positive behaviour amongst all pupils and for working with pupils, staff and parents/ carers to manage challenging pupil behaviour and supporting students with their learning, working to ensure they have the opportunity to fully realise their potential.

The successful candidate must have:
- Experience of working in an educational provision and relevant qualifications in Learning Support.
- The ability to manage behaviour and help students focus on any given task, supporting students in their learning.
- A professional, nurturing and resilient approach.
- Commitment and dependability within the workplace with ability to use your own initiative and manage your time effectively.
- An understanding of the National Curriculum expectations at KS3 and 4.
- The confidence to address conflict and challenging behaviour and implement behaviour management strategies to tackle challenging behaviour.
- The willingness to work flexibly and constructively as part of a team, managing pupil behaviour as and if required in a positive and supportive manner.
- The ability to establish good relationships with pupils, acting as a role model and responding to individual needs.
