Newcastle City Council’s Fostering Service is looking to recruit an enthusiastic and creative Senior Practitioner for our specialist Build a Future Service. The successful applicant will be required to assess and support foster carers who are part of a specialist scheme designed to provide placements for children with complex needs and to assist with the development of the Build a Future service.

You will be expected to have sound knowledge of the Children Act 1989 and a good understanding of the Fostering Regulations, Guidance and National Minimum Standards 2011 (England). You should have excellent communication and assessment skills as well as experience of working with children, foster carers and other professionals.

You must have a relevant social work qualification, such as Degree in Social Work, DipSW, CQSW, CSS or equivalent, and current Social Work England registration.
