This is an exciting new post at Lanark Close Short Breaks Unit which provides support for adults living in the Borough of Stockton-On-Tees with an identified Learning Disability
We are looking for an experienced, committed, and enthusiastic individual who has experience of working in a catering environment and preferably holds a recognised catering qualification.
Your role will be to support people who access short breaks at Lanark Close to plan a healthy and varied menu, budget, and shop for the food, and then support in the cooking and serving of meals whilst promoting independent daily living skills and social activities. You will also be expected to offer cooking/baking activities as part of your role.
Additional experience of supporting, teaching, or mentoring people with learning disabilities would be highly advantageous.
This post requires the person to work a rota of afternoon and evening shifts, which includes weekends and public holidays. You will participate in an agreed roster but would be expected to be flexible to meet the changing requirements of the people who access the service and the running of the short breaks service.
