The role
An opportunity has arisen within our ESF Working Homes Employability project team for an Employment Liaison Officer. .

The ESF Working Homes project has been running since June 2019 and is part of a wider partnership in the North of Tyne Combined Authority. The project is specifically designed to help and support Social Housing Tenants find work and ultimately not rely on benefits for income.

The aim of the project is to work with our tenants in supporting them into employment.

This is done in a number of ways such as identifying relevant college courses, looking for volunteering opportunities, helping with job applications and CV's and above all supporting them through their journey on the project.

You do not necessarily need to have experience of working in social housing, however you do need to be excellent at communication and be able to talk and engage not only with our tenants but with partners, colleagues and relevant agencies. Experience of employability would be a benefit, however, an ability to apply common-sense and a genuine desire to help our tenants are essential and are key attributes for this job.

You will also have a performance driven approach to meeting targets, this is a crucial element of the successful delivery of the project.

If you are looking for a new challenge or an opportunity to try something different and develop and gain new skills whilst in a housing setting, this could be ideal for you.

We are offering:
A starting salary of £24,982 - £27,741 (Band 6)
25 days annual leave plus public and bank holidays (rising to 30 after 5 years of service)(pro-rata for part-time employees)
Access to the Local Government Pension Scheme
A wide range of staff benefits including a competitive annual leave provision
Flexible working arrangements

Essential requirements:
You must have a full current driving licence and have access to a car.
