Further Information

Are you an experienced and creative changemaker? Are you committed to improving outcomes for children and families? Newcastle City Council is embarking on an exciting time in its Early Help Services. As part of Collaborative Newcastle, the Council is reimagining its approach to Early Intervention and Prevention, working with partners to create an integrated city-wide offer: Children & Families Newcastle.

We are looking for experienced practitioners to join our Early Help team and be part of our ambitious transformation plans to improve outcomes for children and families. This is an exciting new role that really represents the city’s commitment to strengths-based work with families and relational practice.

An experienced practitioner, you will be a key point of contact for families with multiple needs, helping families to identify their priorities, work with their strengths and linking them into appropriate support and activities to help them meet their challenges.

As a Family Partner, you will enjoy being part of a dynamic team, shaping the direction of Newcastle’s Early Intervention Offer. You will work within the principles of whole family working, representing the best interests of the families with whom you work and ensuring that the voices of children are heard in assessment and planning.

You will be skilled at maintaining relationships with families and in helping them to develop more effective strategies and skills to care for and improve outcomes for their children.

You will be comfortable being the key point of contact for the families with whom you work. You will equally be confident in representing the best interests of families to a range of partners including external agencies.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, assertive individual who is able to support families and to contribute to the work to achieve the outcomes of the Newcastle Family Outcome Plan.

For an informal discussion please contact Lesley Allmond, Family Partner Team lead
