Nexus is looking to recruit a First Mate based at Tyne and Wear Ferry located at South Shields. This is an exciting opportunity to continue your career growth at the Shields Ferry.
As a First Mate you will be part of the team who will ensure the Shields Ferry runs to a published timetable reliably and efficiently, while maintaining safety standards at all times.
It is essential that applicants should hold a Boat Masters License or equivalent which operates on the River Tyne within the limits Pier Heads to Dunston Staithes. Applicants should also have good customer service skills.
You will be expected to work on your own initiative, as well as part of a team.
A sound knowledge of Health and Safety in a marine environment and the ability to work shifts is essential.
