We currently have a vacancy for a Senior Library & Information Assistant, based at HMP & YOI Kirklevington Grange Library. We are looking for somebody who has a positive attitude and a commitment to delivering a quality service to join the team.

You will need to be enthusiastic, reliable and flexible with good communication skills as you will work with adult male prisoners of various ages and from a range of backgrounds working alongside staff from the prison & partner organisations. Previous library experience, or working with the public, would be advantageous, as would an interest in reading and knowledge of books.

You will also be involved in delivering activities within the branch as well as at other venues where we might promote library services.

IT skills are essential. You will use our Library Management System, for which training will be given, as well as assisting customers with IT where permitted.

You are required to have a minimum of 4 GCSE’s including English and Mathematics at A-C Grade, ECDL or equivalent ICT qualification.

We offer an excellent total reward package including a competitive salary, generous Pension Scheme and annual leave entitlement as well as access to a number of additional employee benefits and a wide range of learning and development opportunities.
