Further Information
Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council prides itself on being a great place to work where staff are trusted, valued and supported to make a positive contribution at work.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an ambitious and highly motivated Handyperson to work within the Home Improvement Agency (HIA) based at Cowpen Depot for Stockton Borough Council.

The HIA service provides minor adaptations, handyperson requirements and needs, advice and guidance to residents of the borough to assist them to maintain their independence in their chosen home.

We are looking for a Handyperson who can undertake minor adaptations and basic handyperson works. The applicant should be able to undertake a range of trade skills such as basic joinery, brick work and installing adaptation equipment.

Qualifications are to include a recognised timed served apprenticeship to NVQ lvl3 or significant demonstrable experience within a related discipline. In addition you must also be a trained trusted assessor (Level 3) or willing to work towards it within the first 3 months of employment.

The applicant will be required to work on his/her own initiative and will be required to submit a full report regarding works carried out and other works outstanding including materials. The duties will include working in occupied premises and therefore there will be a requirement to liaise with tenants in line with our customer service excellence procedures and ensure works are completed to a high standard.

Due to the role requiring frequent travel between venues across the borough, a full driving licence is required for this role.

For detailed information on this role, please refer to the Job Description and Person Specification.
