Further Information
Are you a strong communicator with a passion for developing positive relationships?
• Are you self-motivated, solution focussed and organised?
• Do you thrive on a varied workload, adding value and making a difference to services?
• Do you have experience in public sector or private sector procurement and want a new challenge?
• Are you frustrated by the layers of bureaucracy in your current role and want to work in an organisation with simpler, leaner processes?
Well look no further – this is the opportunity for you!
We are delighted to be recruiting for a Procurement Officer to join our forward thinking, motivated and well-respected team.
Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council spends around £200 million per year buying in a diverse range of goods, works and services to deliver the ambitious plans we have for our borough and its residents.
This is a busy, varied and rewarding role that involves managing the tender, quote and contract management process with the aim of providing quality services and value for money.
We currently have over 500 live contracts where no two contracts are the same. You could be putting contracts in place for a home to school transport service for the children of the borough; to procuring home care services for our elderly residents; or construction consultant services to support the Town Centres development programme.
Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council prides itself on being a great place to work where staff are trusted, valued and supported to make a positive contribution at work.
We offer a competitive salary, generous annual leave, learning and development opportunities, local government pension with the option to add extra contributions and access to a number of other benefits like a car lease scheme, discounts at high street and online retailers, an employee assistance programme and physiotherapy services.
And that’s not all – you can also work flexibly where you can work part of your week at home.
Take a look at the attached job description and career development guide for more information on the role. If you aren’t sure if you have the right skills and experience and want to have a chat with the managers of the team, then please get in touch with Angela Miles on 01642 526180 or via email
