The SEND Placement and Governance Service Area have an exciting opportunity available for an additional senior caseworker, who will provide further resource and support to the SEND Placements Team on a 12 months fixed term contract to cover maternity leave.

We are looking for an individual who has experience of line management and supporting others to develop their skills and knowledge.

Candidates should be passionate about improving outcomes for children within the borough and have experience of a front facing role in which you will challenge and support schools and resolve complex situations with families.

You should have up to date knowledge of SEND & Inclusion procedures and legislation, particularly knowledge of placement of vulnerable pupils through Fair Access, Exclusions and have an understanding of the vision relating to Pathway Development Centres.

The successful candidate will work alongside the team manager to provide line management to the team and support them to secure placements for children who are vulnerable or have special educational needs following legal processes defined by The Children and Families Act 2014.

The post holder will also support the team manager in investigating and responding to corporate complaints relating to SEND and Inclusion and any associated governance.

This post has been identified as suitable for flexible working.
