An exciting opportunity has arisen for a permanent part-time Social Care Officer to work within the Sensory Support Team.

This specialist team is part of the Early Intervention and Prevention service area and covers both children and adults living in the Stockton-on-Tees area.

The Sensory Support Team responds to requests for specialist assessments of need. The main aims are to:

-Assess the sensory needs of individuals

-Help to prevent, reduce and delay the need for formal on-going social care support

-Offer information and advice to enable people to access the right support at the right time

-Explore and facilitate the use of equipment and assistive technology to promote independence and well-being

-Help people to connect with others within the community and reduce loneliness

The successful candidate will be able manage a caseload of clients and will work within legislative frameworks to deliver an effective service to our customers. Organisational and problem-solving skills are therefore essential.

This post has been identified as suitable for flexible working which enables the postholder to work a proportion of their working time away from the office.
