Required on a casual / seasonable basis for Autum term 2024, May/June 2025 examinations

Bamburgh School is growing and we need highly motivated and caring individuals to join our successful team. We are a school for pupils age 4-16 whose special needs cover a broad spectrum of medical, physical, social, emotional and moderate learning difficulties.

We are seeking to recruit new Examination Invigilators to work with the existing team in the running of all internal and public examinations at Bamburgh School.

The post would be ideally suited to applicants who feel a sense of responsibility for today’s young people and who are able to work flexible daytime hours. The role is on a casual basis, throughout the academic year, involving morning and afternoon sessions as directed by the Examinations Officer.

As an examination invigilator you will supervise students during examinations and complete a small amount of associated paper work.

Experience of carrying out invigilation duties would be an advantage however full training will be provided for all invigilators and all hours will be negotiated for each examination period.

South Tyneside Council is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults.  We expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment and an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) disclosure will be sought along with other relevant pre-employment checks.

In line with the guidance in Keeping Children Safe in Education, schools may carry out an online search as part of their due diligence on shortlisted candidates.
