About Us:
Adult Social Care is changing in South Tyneside.  We are a forward-thinking Council that is developing innovative approaches to meet our challenges. Focusing on People, Place and Partnerships, this is a great time to join us.  With our new Council Leadership, and a recent service review, we are developing a new 5-year Vision and Strategy for Adult Social Care to help support the next stage of our journey.  Working closely with all our partners our vision for the future is to see every person in South Tyneside with care and support needs “Living Better Lives”, to fully utilise their strengths and assets, to remain safe and well; in the neighbourhoods and communities they call home.  We want to work with all our partners to ensure the person only need tell their story once and that they have equal voice in co-ordinating their care and support.  We understand promoting the importance of social justice and inclusion, respecting people’s rights, citizenship and participation.

Joining us at this time will ensure you are at the forefront of helping to develop and embed co-production and co-delivery, delivering new models of working through our Adult Social Care framework and contributing to our ambitious plans to fully embed our strengths-based practice, improve services and deliver better outcomes for the people of South Tyneside.   We remain fully committed to supporting our staff to grow and develop, and we will provide you with the opportunity to use your skills and learn new ones.  Through the development of our new Values and Behaviour Framework we will fully support staff to become Curious, Accountable, Responsive and Empowered (CARE).

About the Role:
Assigned to our Safeguarding Adults Team, you will undertake a range of strengths-based interventions aligned to the Making Safeguarding Personal agenda, to ensure adults with care and support needs and their families and carers' achieve their desired outcomes.  You will undertake a range of duties including Section 42 Enquiries as required by the Care Act 2014, support and advise colleagues and partner organisations on the requirements of safeguarding and attend multi agency complex management meetings.

About You:
Driven by research, innovation and the desire to develop best practice, you must demonstrate an applied knowledge of Adult Social Care legislation and be willing to undertake further bespoke learning and development to support your future progression.

As a professional Safeguarding Practitioner you will want to practice in a setting that believes that people are at their healthiest and happiest when they are supported to remain independent, close to the people they love and who love them, in the neighbourhoods and communities they call home.
