We are looking for an enthusiastic person to join the Financial Assessment Team in South Tyneside Council.
 
The role will involve calculating personal contributions towards the cost of services in accordance with relevant legislation and guidance.  You will also undertake Appointee and Court of Protection applications in respect of those people who are unable to manage their financial affairs due to mental incapacity and have no-one else who can support them with this.
 
Applicants will ideally have experience of working in a financial assessment or welfare benefits environment; they should also be able to work on their own initiative and as part of a team.  In addition, you will be expected to communicate with a wide range of people both within and external to the Council.
