Nexus is currently looking to recruit an ICT Test Lead to work within the ICT Service Delivery team based at Nexus House, Newcastle. You will have prior extensive experience of working in a similar role on a wide range of platforms, business systems, hardware and digital technologies.

The involves working on small initiatives, major projects, as an individual and also leading organisational resources to achieve testing, defect management and achieve outstanding finished digital products.
It is an incredibly varied role involving close collaboration with ICT colleagues, members of staff from across the business and suppliers. A friendly, approachable and collaborative manner alongside an aptitude for ICT is required.
 
Typical Month
  • You relish the challenge of working dynamically to deliver testing against systems and product within our project pipeline. There is a wide and varied range of large and small projects across different teams which requires your focus and expertise
  • You will bring a structured, well governed and organised approach ensuring on time robust delivery of testing activities to the required strand and ensuing defects, risks and issues are escalated and resolved.
  • You are leading and delivering various testing activities driven by project or BAU works and apply your knowledge of the most appropriate testing methodologies and tools.
  • Using your experience of test management tools, scripts and conditions to assist teams in achieving best outcomes of time, cost, risk from developments and production systems will feature heavily across the month.
  • Where appropriate you will work independently, with project managers, ICT stakeholders to lead and bring together cross functional teams to achieve our common goals 
 
About You
  • You will have extensive experience of working in a similar role on a range of systems and technologies 
  • You will be able to work dynamically on activities either individually or interfacing with different business functions, teams and stakeholders  
  • You will be able to deliver on time testing activities to high standards of time, cost, risk and quality
  • You are passionate about the customer experience for our internal and external customers  
  • You have experience of testing and broad technical knowledge of various business systems, cloud architecture, ICT platforms, databases and varied hardware including laptops, mobile devices, associated operating systems Our Team
  • You will join a diverse technical and engineering team who are passionate about supporting and delivering a high quality digital service. There are circa 70 of us within the team and some of us have progressed our careers within Nexus whilst recruiting new talent. The great news is, between us we have a fantastic set of knowledge and skills to support each other to get the job done.
 
Job Details and Benefits
  • This is a Monday to Friday post with flexible working in line with Nexus’ Agile policy.
  • The role is based at Nexus House, Newcastle, however flexibility is required to work from other Nexus locations including Gosforth and South Shields.
  • You’ll work a 36 hour week.
