Further Information
Hartlepool is a vibrant and energetic town with growing prospects. As an authority we want to make Hartlepool the best it possibly can be and we want dedicated, driven and committed staff to help us achieve that.

Hartlepool’s coastline is internationally recognised as an important area for the birds and habitats it supports, which is reflected by inclusion of much of the coastline in the Durham Coast SAC. Increases in recreational pressure associated with residential development across the local authority area have the potential to impact upon these important features, and in response Hartlepool Council operates strategic project known as the Coast Project to mitigate these effects.

As the Coastal Ranger, you will be a key point of contact with local communities and visitors to the coast, helping to educate and encourage a responsible use of these areas that minimises impacts to the special birds and habitats found here. You will also facilitate the undertaking and arranging surveys, running public engagement events, and inputting into the management of coastal habitats and other recreation areas.
The successful candidate will be comfortable engaging with the public and will have a knowledge and understanding of key nature conservation issues.
