This is an exciting time to join Northumberland’s Front Door Service which incorporates the triage team and also includes co-located workers from early help service.

We are seeking to appoint a self motivated and enthusiastic individual to join the Front Door but work with teams from across the County in adopting a consistent and robust approach to working with child sexual exploitation.

Do you have excellent communication and research skills and a commitment to high quality practice that focuses on the child’s experience and support to families? Then you might be the right person to join our Front Door.

This is a newly developed post which will operate out of the Front Door however have far reaching opportunities across the County to further develop the Local Authority approach to child sexual exploitation. The successful candidate will work at an operational and strategic level offering analysis of data available as well as quality assurance on work that is completed with young people.

ABOUT YOU

You will have experience of working in a multi-disciplinary environment, ideally with direct experience of early help and/or front door/triage service.
You must have experience of working with child sexual exploitation
You will always want to hear the child’s voice and ensure that this is taken into account.
You will have excellent communication skills and be able to make decisions and recommendations in a fast paced environment
You will be able to contribute to the development of the service.
You may have some knowledge base of the Knowledge and Skills Statement for Child and Family Social Work and the application of Professional Capabilities Framework which will be embedded within all elements of your practice.
You will be empathetic and sensitive to the needs of children and families
You will understand the importance of performance information and your contribution to maintaining high standards .
You will have excellent communication skills and be able to convey complex messages in a straightforward way, both verbally and in writing.
You will not be afraid to think creatively to solve problems.
You will be passionate about maximising a child’s life chances to improve their overall outcomes.
You will care enough to want to make a difference - every day.

You should hold a Social Work qualification or relevant qualification to the role
