Epinay School has recently moved to a new, state of the art school site and our pupil numbers are increasing. The Governors and Head Teacher would like to appoint a suitably qualified outstanding, experienced Teaching Assistant to join our staff team.

Working within our exciting and vibrant Phase 1, the successful candidate will have experience of working with children following the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework. You will also have experience of delivering 1:1 and small group work including phonics and maths. Experience of following a Read, Write inc phonics programme is preferred but not essential as full training will be given.

The successful candidate will also have experience of working with students with a range of complex special educational needs including:

• students with a diagnosis of Autistic Spectrum Disorder
• students with complex speech, language and communication needs that often require the use of alternative communication methods, for example PECCS
• non verbal students
• students with complex sensory processing differences
• students with learning difficulties

Applicants will have the energy and vision to ensure our students are happy, confident, independent learners who are prepared for adulthood. You will be able to support pupils of all ages and have the commitment to academic excellence and high classroom standards.

The ideal candidates will:

• be an experienced Teaching Assistant who has experience of working with children and young people with special educational needs, including Autistic Spectrum Disorder;
• be an experienced Teaching Assistant who has experience of working with children and young people with complex speech, language and communication needs that often require the use of alternative communication methods, for example PECCS, including non verbal students and/or with complex sensory processing differences;
• be an experienced Teaching Assistant who has followed the EYFS framework;
• have experience of undertaking 1:1 support with identified pupils;
• have experience of delivering phonics and maths;
• have experience of undertaking small group learning activities with identified pupils;
• have experience of working with children in small groups;
• have experience of working with young people with special educational needs;
• be a committed team player;
• have the ability to engage and inspire pupils;
• be committed to Epinay’s ethos of high expectations.

Epinay Business & Enterprise School is an outstanding special needs school offering around 200 places to pupils in KS1 – KS5.
