This is an exciting time to join Children’s Social Care as we aim to embed Life Story Work in our practice and ensure all children we work with have an understanding of their life story. Therapeutic Life story work will be undertaken by skilled and trained practitioners working alongside the child and their carer. The aim is to help the child develop stronger, closer relationships with carers, friends and other significant people in their life, and a greater understanding of their life story, strengthening their own resilience thus substantially improving outcomes for children in care and care leavers.
The postholder will co-ordinate the undertaking of Life Story Work for all children receiving a service from children’s social care. This will involve supervising those undertaking the work and liaising with partner agencies. You will advise and support social work staff in the undertaking of life story work for children and young people.
As an experienced and collaborative individual, you will be part of a team who will ensure the creation and delivery of age appropriate life story work.
