There is an exciting opportunity to join a strong team of staff that form part of the support structure within Emily Wilding Davison School.
We aim to appoint Learning Community Manager who will support both the Academic and Social and Emotional Mental Health development of all the students. We are looking for experienced and ambitious practitioners who have a range of skills and experiences and who can join and compliment the Pastoral Team. Our vision is to provide a high quality, educational and therapeutic community, which offers life-changing opportunities in preparation for adulthood, within a safe, creative and exciting environment. We equip students with the academic, social, and emotional foundations needed for a successful transition into post-16 life, driven by our deep commitment to inclusive SEN and SEMH provision.

Applications are invited from outstanding support practitioners who can demonstrate outstanding relationships and outcomes for students through support for students and their families and collaborative working with colleagues and external professionals. You must also be able to demonstrate recent, successful impact within your current role.
The successful applicants will benefit from significant support from our Head Teacher and Leadership Team. A personalised CPD package will be provided to support your transition into the school.

Learning Community Manager
  • A Family Liaison LCM will:
  • - Lead on transition for new students into school including parent/carer/new student visits
  • - Be a contact for pupil-school liaison building positive relationships with students and home
  • - Attend multi-agency meetings including Care Team Meetings, Team Around the Family and Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) reviews.
  • - Respond to daily issues coordinating support within the team
  • - Deliver individual specialised intervention and contribute to the development of Education Action Plans (Individual Education Plans) according to the students’ EHCP
  • - Support specialists within their lessons
  •  - Conduct outreach work where appropriate
We are looking for candidates who have a strong understanding of and who can relate to students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health and be an advocate for the students. This Support role is to build positive relationships with students across the school, work with internal and outside agencies and have an ability / willingness to engage in proactive mentoring support for students as part of the wider team around the child.

  • is enthusiastic, flexible and committed to raising standards of attainment and achievement for all pupils
  • is able to promote links with other schools and with the wider community.
  • is willing to uphold and develop the ethos of The Emily Wilding Davison School.
