School Caretaker Vacancy (Part-Time or Full-Time)

Our school is seeking a reliable and enthusiastic Caretaker to join our team in either a part-time or full-time capacity.

The caretaker plays an important role in ensuring our school remains a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for pupils, staff, and visitors.


Key Responsibilities
 
  • Opening and locking the school premises.
  • Carrying out routine maintenance and minor repairs.
  • Ensuring the school grounds are clean, tidy, and safe.
  • Monitoring health and safety around the site.
  • Supporting with deliveries and setting up rooms for school events.
  • Reporting maintenance issues when specialist repairs are required.

  • Dependable and trustworthy.
  • Practical and confident with basic maintenance tasks.
  • Organised and able to work independently.
  • Committed to maintaining a safe environment for children.
  • Willing to work flexibly when needed.

Hours

We are happy to consider applications for:
 
  • Part-time: Flexible hours to be discussed.
  • Full-time: Standard school caretaker hours, with occasional flexibility for school events.


Safeguarding

As this role involves working in a school environment, the successful applicant will be subject to an Enhanced DBS check and other pre-employment safeguarding checks in line with statutory guidance.
