We are seeking a compassionate and highly organised Senior Business Support Officer to join our Service Improvement / Business Support Team within Public Health South Tees.
A key focus of the role will be providing administrative support for the Child Death Overview Panel (CDOP), a statutory process that reviews child deaths, helps ensure bereaved families receive appropriate support, and identifies learning to help prevent future deaths.
Due to the highly sensitive nature of this work, we are looking for someone who is compassionate, empathetic, and able to manage sensitive and difficult information with professionalism, care, and resilience.
The successful candidate will have excellent communication and organisational skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to handle sensitive matters with good judgement and professionalism.
The postholder will routinely work with highly sensitive and confidential information and must be able to handle this with discretion, respect, and professionalism.
They will be responsible for maintaining high standards of confidentiality and ensuring that all information is managed in line with GDPR, data protection legislation and organisational policies and procedures.
Alongside CDOP responsibilities, the postholder will provide high-quality administrative support across a range of Public Health teams, including the Social Prescribing Team and wider business support functions.
Duties will include:
- coordinating meetings
- maintaining records and databases
- processing financial information
- producing reports and correspondence
- liaising with stakeholders
- contributing to the smooth and effective delivery of services across the team.
We are looking for someone who:
- Has experience working in a busy administrative or business support environment.
- Has excellent organisational skills and strong attention to detail.
- Can manage sensitive and confidential information with professionalism, discretion, and sound judgement.
- Demonstrates a compassionate, resilient, and professional approach to their work.
- Has strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships.
- Can manage competing priorities and work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Is proficient in Microsoft Office applications and other relevant systems.
