Ponteland Community Primary School is seeking a Teaching Assistant to join our welcoming team as soon as possible, on a fixed-term contract for one year in the first instance.

This is a term-time-only role of 32.5 hours per week. Visits to the school are warmly welcomed and can be arranged through the school office.

Your role

As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and colleagues to support children’s learning, development and wellbeing. Our provision caters for children aged nine months to 11 years, and the role requires a flexible approach to supporting children across the school.

The successful candidate will also have a shared responsibility for providing individual support to a pupil with Type 1 diabetes. This will involve helping to meet their medical and pastoral needs in accordance with their individual healthcare plan. Appropriate training and ongoing support will be provided.

Essential requirements

Applicants should have:
 
  • A relevant Teaching Assistant qualification.
  • Experience of working with children in a school or childcare setting.
  • A commitment to inclusive education and the wellbeing of all pupils.
  • A willingness to undertake relevant training and follow agreed healthcare procedures.
