An exciting opportunity has arisen for two Painters to join our Property Services Team.
This is a fantastic opportunity to become part of a forward-thinking service that is committed to delivering high-quality repairs, maintenance, capital investment and improvement works across our housing and property portfolio. We are looking for motivated, skilled and customer-focused Painters who share our commitment to delivering high standards of workmanship and service excellence.
As a Painter, you will play a key role in delivering a wide range of painting works across occupied and vacant properties, as well as supporting projects within both domestic and commercial settings throughout South Tyneside.
Your duties will include:
- Preparing surfaces for painting, including sanding, cleaning and priming.
- Applying paint, stains and coatings using brushes, rollers and spray equipment.
- Applying damp and mould treatments.
- Regularly working at height, both indoors and outdoors.
- Maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
- Undertaking all aspects of the role, using a multi–skilled whole job approach.
- Understanding and managing the quantities of material required for the job.
- Being a team player and therefore able to work in a group.
- Being accustomed to building and construction sites.
- Understanding the basics of computers and other hand-held devices.
- Ensuring the site is safe for public and employees.
- Using tools associated with the work including portable power tools.
- Supervising Apprentices and other young people on site demonstrating tasks to be carried out.
- Working independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team to meet service targets and customer expectations.
- Prioritising workloads effectively to ensure repairs and projects are completed safely, efficiently and within agreed timescales.
- Ensuring all work is carried out in compliance with health and safety requirements, policies and procedures.
- Maintaining excellent standards of customer care when working within residents' homes and communities.
