Teaching and Learning HLTA (Band 4) based at Woodlands needed ASAP - Term time plus 6 days
The Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) will support the delivery of high-quality teaching and learning across the site, working in partnership with teachers and leaders to promote positive outcomes for all pupils. The postholder will deliver learning activities to individuals, small groups and whole classes. They will contribute to planning, preparation, assessment and the effective delivery of the curriculum.
The HLTA will provide targeted academic, social and emotional support to pupils, adapting learning activities to meet individual needs. They will monitor and record pupil progress, provide constructive feedback to teachers, and support the implementation of Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and personalised learning programmes.
Working across the site, the HLTA will establish positive relationships with pupils, colleagues, parents and external professionals to promote an inclusive learning environment. The postholder will model effective classroom practice, support behaviour for learning, contribute to the development of colleagues where appropriate, and maintain high expectations of achievement, engagement and attendance.
The HLTA will provide classroom cover across the site during teacher absence or release time, ensuring continuity of learning through the effective delivery of lessons. They will use their initiative to respond to the needs of pupils while maintaining a safe, engaging and purposeful learning environment.
The post holder will work flexibly across all phases on the site, supporting organisational priorities and contributing to continuous improvement. They will uphold the organisation's values, policies and safeguarding responsibilities at all times and demonstrate a commitment to inclusive practice, professional development and collaborative working.
These duties are in addition to the HLTA standards.
Any other duties as directed by the Assistant Headteacher Woodlands and/or Director of Curriculum.
