Greenfields Community Primary School is looking to recruit an Early Years Practitioner to our growing Daycare provision. We are looking for someone with a passion for supporting children’s early learning and development.

About Us
At Muddy Bairns Day, we believe in creating a warm, nurturing, and stimulating environment where children thrive. Our ethos is deeply rooted in outdoor learning, encouraging little explorers to connect with nature, develop curiosity, and build confidence.

We are looking for a passionate, dedicated and experienced Practitioner to join our growing team. If you love working with children from 9 months old, value outdoor experiences, and want to be part of a supportive and dynamic nursery, we’d love to hear from you!

The Role
As an EYFS Practitioner, you will play a vital role in caring for and supporting our youngest children. You will create a safe, loving, and engaging environment, ensuring babies reach key milestones through sensory play, outdoor adventures and nurturing interactions.

Your Responsibilities
  • Provide a high standard of physical, emotional, social, and intellectual care for children from 9 months to 3 years.
  • Plan and deliver age-appropriate activities, promoting development in line with the EYFS framework.
  • Encourage outdoor learning and nature-based play, making the most of our outdoor spaces.
  • Be a Key Person for a small group of children, building strong relationships with families.
  • Observe and assess each child’s progress, maintaining learning journeys with photographs and observations.
  • Maintain a safe and stimulating environment, ensuring toys, equipment and spaces are clean and well-organised.
  • Work collaboratively with your team and contribute to a positive atmosphere.
  • Ensure all safeguarding procedures are followed, prioritising the welfare and safety of children at all times.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and carers, keeping them informed and involved in their child’s progress.
  • Support nursery events, training, and staff meetings to continually develop your skills and the nursery’s success.
What We’re Looking For
  •  A Level 2 Early Years Qualification (full and relevant).
  •  Previous experience in a nursery setting, ideally with babies.
  •  A genuine passion for outdoor learning and child-led exploration.
  •  A warm, caring, and enthusiastic personality.
  •  Strong teamwork and communication skills.
  •  Knowledge of EYFS, safeguarding policies, and child development.
  •  Reliability, flexibility, and commitment to high standards.

Why Join Us?
  •  Work in a nursery that values outdoor play and nature-inspired learning.
  •  A supportive and friendly team that encourages growth and development.
  •  Regular training and career progression opportunities.
  •  Competitive salary and benefits.
  •  A beautiful nursery environment where your passion for childcare can flourish.
