Benton Dene School is a “good” school (Ofsted March 2017)

Our 120 pupils are supported by a dedicated and innovative staff committed to providing them with the best possible learning environment. They are responsible for the excellent progress our pupils make both in terms of personal, social and emotional development and academic performance.

Due to the recent promotion of our Deputy Headteacher we are looking for an outstanding practitioner to work closely with the Headteacher and governing body to lead our school to even greater success. We are looking to appoint a motivated, dedicated and highly effective leader who shares our vision and has the drive to work with us and other leaders in school.

You will need to be an exceptional teacher with knowledge of mainstream provision as well as experience of supporting pupils with SEN / Autism and a proven track record of leadership. We are also looking for someone who will maintain and develop our successful relationships with parents, Benton Dene Primary School (with whom we share an inclusive building), the North Tyneside Learning Trust and the wider community.

We are very proud of our pupils and staff and believe that the Deputy Headteacher post at Benton Dene will offer candidates an opportunity to work in a truly unique setting with staff and governors committed to ensuring that the school continues to provide the best possible education for our children.

The school currently provides for 120 (Nursery – Yr 6) pupils with complex MLD / ASD.
