Principal Service Inspection and Governance Officer

Salary: Grade 12 £35,229 - £39,002

Job Location: Your normal place of work will be County Hall, Durham. However, you may be required to work at any council workplace within County Durham

Could you play a key role in supporting Children and Young People’s Services and our partner organisations to prepare for a range of statutory inspections (such as ILACS, SEND and JTAI) and peer reviews?

As our Principal Service Inspection and Governance Officer you will play a pivotal role: working with senior managers preparing prior to announcement; leading the development and implementation of robust quality systems to support inspection processes; co-ordinating the support of inspections/peer reviews; and supporting the development of the initial response to inspection findings.

You will also lead on other aspects of governance such as the production of the annual Directors Assurance Statement, management of research governance arrangements, co-ordinating staff conduct processes, and ensuring effective support systems are in place for quality audit processes. You will manage and be supported by 1 member of staff.
