An opportunity has arisen in the Safeguarding Adults Team for a suitably qualified Senior Practitioner.

We are seeking an experienced social worker who has a highly developed specialist knowledge in Safeguarding Adults. A comprehensive knowledge and experience of current legislation and policy including The Care Act, Mental Capacity Act, Safeguarding Adults and Making Safeguarding Personal and other relevant legislation and policy is essential. Your advanced expertise and knowledge will help you take the lead on complex cases.

The job will involve managing Safeguarding Adult Concerns including carrying out initial enquiries, making decisions whether a Safeguarding Planning Meeting is required or not, carrying out formal investigations and chairing Safeguarding Meetings.

In addition you will be expected to co-facilitate training/workshops in relation to Safeguarding and to play a key role in developing and monitoring the competency of front line social work staff.

You will expected to deputise for the Team Manager when required and attend local and regional meetings in relation to Safeguarding Adults.

Strong communication, engagement and analytical skills and a track record of delivering excellent services for adults at risk is required.

You will be expected to keep up to date with any changes in legislation or policy and guidance. It is also essential that you can demonstrate a commitment to non-discriminatory practice and equal opportunities.
