The Service

The registrars, coronial and archive service are part of the Council Culture and Heritage service. The service includes the coordination and delivery of ceremonies, official registration responsibilities, management of the ‘’Tell us Once’ service, coordination of the coronial services and management of the County archive service.

The role

Reporting to the Head of Service the post holder will be the Councils Proper Officer, ensuring that statutory responsibilities are fulfilled, important moments in people’s lives are managed with dignity and respect and effective working relationships are in place with key bodies such as the General Registration Office, Ministry of Justice, Home Office and UKBA (Immigration).

As the successful applicant will also have responsibility for the County Archive service, the post offers the existing opportunity to make a real contribution to shape the direction of the service, particularly encompassing digital archiving.

The role will include working with external partners to develop complex funding bids.

We are looking for someone who has previous experience of working in a senior role in either a Registrars or a Archive service, who will be proactive and enjoy being challenged by new areas and activities; they will also possess excellent communication and team working skills.

A starting salary of £ 46183 rising to £49406
