To start after the Easter holiday, we require a Science Technician to ensure that resources are in place that will allow for the effective teaching of the Sciences and the participation of students in engaging practical activities.

Duties include:
Preparing and setting up equipment and materials for lessons.
Maintaining the safety standards of practical resources; noting and rectify equipment faults, chemical spills and other hazards.
Organisation and management of practical resources.
Ensuring that equipment is properly cleaned and that chemicals and other materials are appropriately stored.

You will be one of a team of 3 staff supporting Science and will be line managed by the Senior Technician.

The role is 37 hours per week, Monday to Thursday 8am to 4pm and 8am to 3.30pm on a Friday during term time (this includes INSET days).
Due to an exceptional circumstance we will need you to work some days during the Christmas holidays of 2019/20. This is when we are scheduled to move into our brand new, state of the art building which has a STEAMS (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Maths & Sport) theme. Exact days will be confirmed with you. but it is likely that the school will be operational on every day except the bank holidays of that time. You will be paid for all additional days worked.
