The Service
Reporting into the IT Service Desk Team Leader you will be working within a team of 20 Support Officers, in a customer facing role. We are looking for a highly motivated person with relevant IT experience to work within either the 1st or 2nd line support teams.

The role
A major part of this role will be dealing with customer issues and difficulties often on a one to one basis. A combination of people skills and technical ability is required to resolve moderately complex problems, using agreed standards and tools.

You will carry out fault diagnosis to resolve problems, calling upon other members of staff or suppliers where appropriate, reporting the results of such diagnosis in a clear and concise manner. You will be a good problem solver who responds to challenges and can demonstrate skills with desktop devices and software functionality. You will be providing face to face, telephone and remote support to existing customers, undertaking hardware fault finding of faulty computer equipment and installing software.

You must have a good general standard of literacy and numeracy and a technical qualification or evidence of competency in IT. You will have very effective IT skills and ability to understand and develop the use of ICT to achieve work objectives and the ability to work methodically and systematically. The ability to converse at ease with customers and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for the post.

Essential requirements:
A general standard of literacy and numeracy
A technical qualification or evidence of competency in IT
Actively undertaking ongoing continuous professional and personal development
An active desire to provide effective customer centred services
Competence in using Microsoft Office, Oracle applications, word processing, spreadsheets and
database systems
Very effective IT skills and ability to understand and develop the use of ITC to achieve work objectives
Ability to absorbs technical information, when it is presented systematically and applies it effectively
