We are seeking to appoint a versatile, well-organised and motivated Admin Assistant to provide effective administrative support to facilitate the day to day running of the school office. Applicants must possess:

• A minimum of 4 GCSE (Grades A*-C) or equivalent including English and Maths
• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in relevant area
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word & Excel
• Experience of working to tight time deadlines
• Good communication and organisational skills
• Ability to deal with the public in a sensitive and tactful way

Wellfield was judged ‘Good’ by Ofsted in June 2018.

As part of BSF the school has undergone an £8.5 million refurbishment so facilities are state of the art. Situated only 8 miles to the east of Durham City the school is well located for access to the A19 and A1(M). It is also within comfortable driving distance of affordable housing and areas of outstanding natural beauty.

WHOLE TIME - i.e.- employees who must work all year around (52 weeks per year), including during school closure periods. These employees will have a leave entitlement of 26 or 31 days (pro rata for part time) which must be taken when the schools are closed. The holiday entitlement runs from April to March, under Green Book terms i.e. not academic year).

Where our roles are customer facing and you are required to speak to members of the public, the ability to converse at ease with customers and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for the post.
