Due to the early retirement of the current post holder, we are looking to appoint to a challenging but rewarding post of Service Manager within our Safeguarding and Care Planning team, within Children's Services.

You must have experience of managing, motivating and leading front-line managers and teams in Children's Services to ensure the focus is always on achieving better outcomes for children, young people and their families with the provision of the highest possible professional standards of social work.

As such you must hold a Social Work qualification and HCPC registration together with a management qualification and/ or significant management training.

You must have a sound knowledge of Children's legislation, practice and procedure, and safeguarding and regulatory frameworks. You must be adept at partnership working and have a clear commitment to equal opportunities and anti-oppressive practice.

As this a key managerial post you will have highly developed verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to prepare complex reports and give presentations.
