Adults and Integrated Care are keen to support the development of new digital and ICT solutions which will improve outcomes for the people of South Tyneside and help them to Live Better Lives.

The Health Information Exchange (HIE) is part of the wider project to deliver the Great North Care Record (GNCR). The vision of the GNCR is that information held within the region’s hospitals, mental health services, social care, GPs and community services and ambulance services will be available on a 24 hour basis to appropriate authorised health and care professionals to support direct care to an individual.

The Council is committed to improving information sharing arrangements to support more integrated ways of working. The Council sees the HIE project as an enabler and opportunity to better share information and ultimately deliver a more cohesive service to the person.

This newly created one year fixed term post is to provide project support to a range of Digital and ICT Projects within the Council including the Health Information Exchange Project from planning stage, through to implementation. This will include assisting with the development and implementation of project plans, supporting the Digital and ICT Project Officer, maintaining project management documentation, working with services to improve and resolve data quality issues and supporting services to ensure compliance with information governance requirements.
