An opportunity has arisen to join a high profile, strong performing team within Regeneration and Local Services. The successful candidate will be expected to develop strong links with local communities, schools and businesses and work with them to educate and engage residents on issues and in activities that help make County Durham a cleaner and greener place to live and work.

Prospective applicants should have knowledge of local environmental issues, experience of working directly with communities and multi-agency teams to develop community led initiatives, be highly motivated and enthusiastic and have a flexible approach to work.

You will be part of the Civic Pride Team and you will be responsible for the development of the exciting Spruce Up initiative that is now in it's second year.

Spruce up takes one settlement at a time combining the County Council’s activities to give a thorough tidy up of the area, alongside this activity we engage with schools, businesses and community groups encouraging everyone to play their part in demonstrating pride in their area.

Required Qualifications:

• Educated to NVQ 4 or equivalent in a relevant subject

It is anticipated that interviews will be held week commencing 30th September 2019.

The successful applicant for this post will be required to apply for Disclosure and Barring Service Enhanced Disclosure.

Due to the requirement to drive a County Council vehicle in this role, appointment will be subject to the production of a valid driving licence for the required category of vehicle and the satisfactory completion of an in-house Driver Induction Assessment.

Where our roles are customer facing and you are required to speak to members of the public, the ability to converse at ease with customers and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for the post.
