The Adults & Communities Directorate, consists of three strands, Adult Social Care, Community Development, and Public Health. We are looking for experienced Social Workers to come and join our Adults Mental Health Social Work team. The team provides a comprehensive, specialist social work service to users of the Adult’s Mental Health services and their families as part of our continuing collaborative working with our mental health partners in Tees, Esk and Wear Valley Foundation Trust.
We are seeking to strengthen our team with people experienced in either mental health social work and/or extensive social work experience in mainstream adult social work practice, especially in relation to Safeguarding and Court of Protection work.
Our Adults Mental Health team is based at Foxrush, Kirkleatham, Redcar. The Social Work team works closely alongside Psychiatric, Nursing and Occupational Therapy colleagues from TEWV Mental Health Trust as well as AMHP’s being based within it and there is the opportunity as a Social Worker to work closely with the AMHP’s on their back-up rota. Dependent on experience, there will also be the opportunity to supervise and mentor more junior team members and support the Team Manager in undertaking delegated management duties as appropriate.
The successful applicant will already have a track record of achievement in adult social care, excellent communication skills and the ability to forge effective working relationships with health professionals and colleagues from the voluntary and independent sectors.
