This is an exciting role, which will provide the right person with the opportunity to help grow and develop the Council’s award-winning Corporate Fraud Team.

Based in the Council’s highly regarded Internal Audit, Risk and Fraud Service you will use your experience of Fraud to assist in the continuation of a first-class service. You will be responsible for the prevention, detection and investigation of fraud and corruption, to minimise financial losses to the Council and assist in our innovation and collaborative working.

We offer a varied caseload and the opportunity to investigate and pursue complex fraud cases. You will assist in ensuring the Corporate Fraud Team performance is maintained and excellent working relationships to customers both internal and external.

Experience of working in a counter fraud environment is essential, ideally supported by a relevant professional qualification or accreditation. You must be competent at intelligence gathering in accordance with CPIA and interviewing under caution in accordance with PACE. The initiative and drive to achieve continuous improvement in fraud prevention across the Council is key. Self-motivated, enthusiastic and highly organised, you’ll have excellent communication skills and a strong drive for innovation. An understanding of local government fraud risks would be helpful.

Applicants should have a minimum NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.
