Are you looking for an opportunity to gain a NVQ in Business Administration whilst gaining valuable work experience? Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council has an exciting new opportunity within the Handyperson & Adaptation Team (HAT).

The team is responsible for delivering major and minor adaptations requested by the Social Care Occupational Therapy team, which can include bathing facilities, toilets, stair lifts, ramps, access to bedrooms and also deliver handyperson services all of which is supporting older, vulnerable and people with disabilities to remain in their own homes independent and safe.

You will gain valuable work experience supporting the team with:

• Ordering of equipment, office supplies and other inventories that are required
• Inputting, updating and retrieval of information from systems and data bases pertaining to social care services and the HAT team
• Update and ensure the accuracy of the services databases
• Filing and record keeping including the sorting and distribution of sensitive and confidential information;
• Provide administrative support to management and other staff
• Scheduling and attending meetings, creating agendas and taking minutes;
• Keeping diaries and arranging appointments;
• Liaising with staff in other departments and with external contacts;
• Sorting and distributing incoming post and organising and sending outgoing post;
• Use computer word processing, spreadsheet, and database software to prepare reports and documents

We are looking for an enthusiastic, hard-working, positive individual who is self-motivated and able to work using their own initiative as well as being a team player. The successful candidate will be committed to providing an excellent service and be willing to learn and develop their knowledge.
